Princess Adjoba Nyaniba Yankson Joh is a creative whose journey bridges professionalism, art, and purpose. With diplomas in Insurance and Risk Management and Management Studies, she built a distinguished career in The Gambia’s insurance sector, rising to Reinsurance Officer and earning a Certificate of Merit for excellence. Her true passion lies in the arts. In 2010, she founded Adjoba Designs, a brand celebrating African culture through painting, fashion, and handcrafted creations. Inspired by His Majesty H. Malatsi Siwa of South Africa, she expanded her craft to include poetry, choreography, and cultural advocacy. As part of The Messengers of Messages (MOMS)—a Pan-African cultural movement—Princess uses art to empower youth, women, and people with disabilities across Africa. Her work embodies creativity, resilience, and the belief that art is a force for healing and transformation. Her weaving skills began as a childhood hobby but evolved significantly after meeting Gambian artist Bob Manneh in 2008. Under his guidance, she learned advanced crochet techniques for creating bags, hats, and dresses from wool, building on her foundation of chair bags and tablecloths to develop her unique artistic style.
